The Canadian Gas Association is proud to present the 30th Annual Regulatory Course. The course objective is to develop a more complete and practical understanding of the Canadian natural gas regulatory framework and, in particular, the ratemaking process. Concepts outlined in an adult learning format will be reinforced through pre-course reading material and exercises. Interactive participation will be encouraged by using an open format and a hearing simulation involving all students.

Lessons for Fleets Exploring Low-Emission Carbon Fuels
This webinar is designed to help fleets make informed decisions about adopting low carbon fuels such as Hydrogen (H2) and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). Fleet managers, operators, municipal and other facility staff involved in budgeting, procurement and management are encouraged to attend, ask questions and learn from the adoption experiences from across North America.
Subject matter experts from FleetZero will walk participants through the process of evaluating decarbonization opportunities using H2 and RNG, offering actual experiences and lessons learned. The webinar will address core issues such as range, cost, reliability, supply chains, parts, and other issues affecting trucking, public transit, and return to base fleets such as waste hauling.
Speakers:
- Sherena Hussain, Chief Operating Officer, FleetZero
- Naeem Farooqi, Chief Executive Officer, FleetZero

RNG in heavy duty fleets
Featuring expert perspectives from fleet managers, equipment manufacturers, utilities, and consulting firms from across Canada, this webinar will provide an overview of the economic and policy challenges, and promising opportunities RNG has to offer heavy duty fleets looking to lower carbon emissions.
Speakers:
Tyson Jerry
Business Development Manager
Low Carbon Transportation & Renewable Gas Supply
FortisBC Energy Inc.In 2008, Tyson pursued his lifelong passion for low carbon transportation by setting the Guinness World Record for “Longest Journey by Car Using Alternative Fuel.” In partnership with the Sierra Club, the campaign educated high school students across North America about sustainability. The tour hit nearly every state, province, and territory, driving further than anyone without using a gas station, clocking in at 48,535 km. Fifteen years later, that record has yet to be beaten.
For nearly 20 years Tyson has worked in sales, marketing and business development, with a focus on displacing fossil fuels from commercial fleets. Today, Tyson works for FortisBC as their Business Development Manager in Low Carbon Transportation & Renewable Gas Supply.
Tyson continues write (and brag) about his intelligent wife and two vibrant little girls with whom he is privileged to live, work, and play on the unceded ancestral territories of the Coast Salish peoples.
Cody Brookwell
Director, Sales & Business Development, Canada
Clean Energy FuelsMr. Brookwell began his career in 2016 with Alberta’s natural gas utility company, ATCO, supporting corporate initiatives around energy efficiency, and low-carbon technologies. Specializing in alternative fuels and commercial transportation, Mr. Brookwell was successful in securing CAD$6.5M of funding from Emissions Reduction Alberta, to help launch the low-carbon fuels market for heavy-duty vehicles in the province. Building on this momentum, he joined Clean Energy in 2020, with the goal of developing a network of stations that would support decarbonization in regional and long-haul trucking across western Canada. In 2023, Clean Energy announced a $70M joint venture with Canada’s largest natural gas producer, Tourmaline Oil, with a target of building up to 20 compressed natural gas stations across Canada in the next five years. Mr. Brookwell holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver, and a master’s degree from the University of Ulster. He currently holds the position of Director, Sales & Business Development, and is responsible for the growth of Clean Energy’s business across Canada.

CGA Energy Nexus & Annual Technical Conference 2024
CGA is hosting its second joint Energy Nexus & Annual Technical Conference in Toronto, October 7–10, 2024. The two flagship events will be brought together once again in 2024 to offer a one-stop event for the entire industry.
Join colleagues in a forum on the growing role of gas energy — natural gas, hydrogen and RNG — in Canada, where we will challenge traditional ways of thinking on global and domestic energy security, innovation, affordability, resiliency, changing customer expectations, and more. The conference will consist of industry-leading plenary discussions, concurrent sessions, and roundtable discussions. The event will include our Gas Measurement and Regulation School.
